Encompass is devoted to using our medical knowledge and resources to assist rescue organizations in giving all pets a healthy life. We are compelled to treat each pet as our own. Together, we can build a healthy foundation of medical care in which EACH pet thrives.
We offer specialized veterinary care for our rescue organization friends that are 501(c)(3) organizations.
Our services include low cost care for your qualifying feline and canine family members including spays, neuters and vaccinations.

Dr. Andrea Yowpa graduated from Cornell University in 2000. She then went on to receive her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ross University, graduating in 2004. She worked in private practice as an associate before moving to the not-for-profit world where she worked for Operation PETS in Blasdell until she was moved to create her own practice after seeing the need the rescues in our area have. Since adopting and fostering her own rescues, Dr. Yowpa strives to help give the needed care to rescue animals in the area.
After receiving a Bachelors in Sociology with concentrations in Women's Studies and studio art from Hobart and William Smith colleges, Sara went on to graduate from Medaille College with honors in veterinary technology. Since, she has worked in both private and nonprofit veterinary practices. Here, she realized her passion for veterinary empathy in action through providing excellent medical care to companion animals for rescue groups and needful individuals.
Kurstyn graduated from NCCC with a degree in animal management and then continued her education at Canisius College earning a bachelors degree in Animal Behavior, Ecology and Conservation. She has worked with all types of animals at the Buffalo Zoo, Primate sanctuary, and the Erie County SPCA. Kurstyn discovered her passion when she became a volunteer for a dog rescue and then eventually opened up her own! She is excited to help rescues all over buffalo with EACH to provide quality and affordable veterinary care.
Emily graduated with an associates degree in animal management. She then went to Canisius College, where she received a bachelor's degree in animal behavior, ecology and conservation. After graduation, she entered the not-for-profit world by joining the behavior staff at the SPCA of Erie County. She then advanced her career by becoming a Certified Professional Dog Trainer specializing in rescue dogs. Emily started her own dog rescue organization with Kurstyn and they are working to bridge the gap between owner knowledge and rescue dog behavior. Emily has a passion for helping rescue animals!
She is a Medaille College 2006 graduate.
Her love for animals, from a young age, led her to Veterinary Nursing. She had a knack for finding lost, abandoned, hungry kittens; bringing them home and nursing them back to health.
She has 3 cats and 1 dog - all rescued, and all spoiled!

Encompass Animal Care and Health is an approved nonprofit organization and has been granted 501(c)(3) status, which means Encompass has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt, charitable organization. Your donations will allow us to expand the services we may offer your rescue family members. We also accept goods in the form of blankets, towels, sheets, laundry detergent and anything else you think would be helpful! Any excess supplies will be donated to our rescue friends.
